Heart

Heart is a three minute portrait of the filmmaker through the eyes some of the family and friends that are closest to him, over a year after coming out. He invites the audience to witness how his family and friend's perceptions of him are warping and interchanging as he continues the journey of his transition. Using a series of unscripted voicemails, aspects of the filmmaker are revealed to the audience with limited control on his behalf, altogether painting a revealing picture of the filmmaker, and each relationship.

This piece was created for the ‘Exploration’ Unit in the Filmmaking course at Manchester School of Art & later captured the attention of film director Alma Har’el - earning Finn an invitation to join the global network Free the Work.
